Policies to reduce instability

The current stabilization policy adopted by many Latin American countries demands a restrictive monetary coupled with conservative fiscal policy. While these policies have been adapted to suture financial fragilities, they not able significantly improve the levels of structural poverty and unemployment, rendering approach vulnerable political risk. By exploring case Argentina, this paper argues that presence such risk forces government adopt heterodox, eclectic very flexible formation may maximize its chances achieve long term social objectives.
